Kundalini Yoga

Instructor: Fran Smith
Contact: 0781 3641006. Fran.Smith@btinternet.com

  • Kundalini yoga is the Mother yoga and uses specific sequences to help you achieve a healthy mind, body and spirit, these sequences are referred to as Kriyas. It’s purpose is to activate your Kundalini energy, or shakti, a spiritual energy that is located at the base of your spine. As this energy awakens, it is believed to rise through your chakras and bring balance to your spiritual wellbeing. Focussing on breath and physical poses (asana), this class will give you not only a physical workout, but an inward journey, using chanting, deep relaxation and meditation. Suitable for all ages, and for beginners through to advanced students, you will move at your own pace and listen to your body.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Instructor & how to book: Laura Penn

  • Trauma Sensitive Yoga offers a specialised form of yoga to survivors of complex trauma and treatment-resistant PTSD including survivors of domestic, sexual and chronic childhood abuse, military veterans and survivors of war and human trafficking.

However, due to the gentle nature of this form of yoga, it may also be useful for those with limited mobility, or who have experienced long periods of medical intervention. It may also be helpful for individuals experiencing issues with anxiety and depression, or for people coping with grief.

TS Yoga is not therapy (although it can be part of a client’s therapy programme); individuals are not expected to discuss or access their trauma memories during yoga sessions.

Laura offers TS yoga classes as a 4-week Online course; private in-person classes are also available. Please feel free to visit Laura’s website for full details and upcoming course dates -
