My first experience with Thai Yoga Massage was on my travels in China and Taiwan. I had a massage and afterwards, I felt indescribably ‘high’, my body felt beautifully open and ‘worked’, like I had just done a good workout. I was wonderfully energised!
That same night, as my body and mind relaxed, I became very tired and a little tearful. This powerful reaction was due to how Thai Yoga Massage unblocks the physical body, as well as being able to release energy and emotion. I knew immediately that I wanted to learn more about the benefits. I went on to complete training with master practitioners Kira Balaskas and Bob Haddad of the Thai Healing Alliance International and CPD with Shama Kern.
I love working with clients, as each massage is unique, and we work together to find just the right balance between relaxation and movement. Giving Thai massage is also a wonderful antidote to my substantive ‘day job’ as a Professor of Dance, keeping me connected to my own body-mind through Thai yoga’s meditative and mindful approach.
