Imbolc is a Gaelic festival that marks the beginning of spring. It is celebrated in the first days of February, between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. This date symbolises the purification and rebirth of Mother Earth, which begins to show the first signs of its awakening after the long sleep from the cold of winter. It is a time of celebration in the light of the Sun, which was reborn in Winter Solstice and begins to strengthen, warming again and gradually illuminating nature.

In some traditions, Imbolc becomes the time of celebration of the Goddess who ends her period of rest after the birth of the solar child and begins to wake up renewed with its light and warmth that brings life.
