You probably don’t think of your back and breath as being really connected, but if you move your body backwards, the front of your body opens, creating more space for your lungs to work efficiently and effectively.
Strengthening and stretching the muscles in your back can produce a myriad of benefits helping keep your back strong, flexible and mobile; a strong back is also crucial for good posture. Being aware of your posture is key; if you sit all day your posture may suffer, if your posture suffers and you hunch forward, your breathing will be restricted. Improving your posture will not only help your back and spine stay healthy and strong, it will enable you to breathe more easily and efficiently leading to a calmer and more peaceful you.
Whilst backward movements of the body can be invigorating and challenging, helping to build confidence and improve your mood, pranayama (breathwork) is excellent at helping to calm your mind and body and find peace in the present moment.
So, in this workshop, you will be focusing on these two key aspects of yoga: your Back and your Breath. Why not come Back to Breath for a valuable and enjoyable two hours of ‘me’ time?
The workshop will finish with Laura’s choice of tea and treats that support the theme of the workshop.
