YOUR SHOULDERS ARE A COMPLEX SYSTEM OF MUSCLES, JOINTS, LIGAMENTS AND TENDONS THAT WE SOMETIMES PLACE UNDER INTENSE PHYSICAL DEMANDS.
From carrying a bag, to throwing a ball, to doing yoga, strong, healthy shoulders are essential in everyday life to help prevent injuries and aid better posture
WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THE WORKSHOP?
This workshop is a great opportunity to practice techniques and poses that help mobilise, strengthen, stabilise and release tension in the shoulders.
You will be focusing on:
SHOULDER STABILITY:
Strength and flexibility are not separate: you need both to have strong, stable shoulders.
SHOULDER STRENGTH:
Since we use our shoulder muscles so much, they may be susceptible to injuries. Yoga can help to gently build strength to help support your shoulders.
SHOULDER MOBILITY:
Yoga can help create mobility in your shoulders by taking them through a full range of motion.
SHOULDER ANATOMY:
Taking a brief look at the anatomy of your shoulders can help you get a clearer picture of how they work and how to look after them effectively
This workshop will be a fun couple of hours, concluding with tea and treats, especially selected to support the theme of the workshop. Student feedback continuously highlights this as a highly popular social moment of the workshop when you can chat and ask any questions … I wonder why!
Everyone is welcome to this yoga workshop; you do NOT need to have done any yoga before, although you do need to be able to get up and down off the floor.
